What actually works on grey hair
No herb turns grey hair back to its old colour. What you can do is colour the greys you have with henna, and use bhringraj and amla as regular hair packs, which is the traditional way to care for hair that has started to grey.
Every powder here is one plant with nothing added, so you can read the whole label in a second.
Which one do you need?
How to use them
- To colour with henna: mix with warm water or tea into a yoghurt-like paste and rest it for 4 to 6 hours. Apply to clean hair, wrap it, leave for 1 to 2 hours and rinse. The colour keeps deepening for 24 to 48 hours.
- For a bhringraj and amla pack: mix 2 to 3 tablespoons with warm water, apply to scalp and lengths, leave for 30 to 45 minutes and rinse. Most people do this 1 to 3 times a week.
Questions
Can herbs reverse grey hair?
No. Bhringraj and amla are traditionally said to slow further greying, but they do not bring back the colour of hair that is already grey. To change the colour of grey hair you need a dye, such as henna.
Does henna cover grey hair?
Yes. Henna stains grey strands well, and because grey has no pigment of its own it shows as a copper-red, which deepens over a few applications.
Can I get brown or black hair with henna?
Not with henna alone. Brown or black needs a second step with indigo after the henna. We do not sell indigo powder at the moment.
Is henna safe on chemically coloured hair?
Pure henna is, but results vary on treated hair, so always strand test first.
Do these powders contain PPD?
No. Each powder is a single plant with nothing added, with no PPD, ammonia or metallic salts.
